The Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team is reloading after an end-of-the-season surge that saw them looking like the best team Shawn Stiffler has had since the head coach arrived in South Bend. Unfortunately, one of the first things the team had to deal with after missing out on regionals was star catcher Carson Tinney entering the transfer portal.

The Irish haven’t come close to replacing Tinney, but they did add a pitcher to the roster. Rice RHP graduate transfer Garrett Stratton is now a member of Notre Dame. He struggled a bit this past season, but Stiffler is hoping for some better success after a 2024 campaign that saw him post a 6.33 ERA, 75.1 IP, 66 strikeouts, and 3 saves.

ACC turns in a solid Super Regionals performance, outside of North Carolina

Of course, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish missed out on regionals, but the ACC in general has had quite a bit of success. North Carolina notwithstanding, the conference still has several teams that could be on the way to Omaha

Louisville has already clinched a trip to the College World Series, and Duke will have a chance to do the same later on Monday. Meanwhile, North Carolina is out of the tournament after winning the first game against Arizona and then suffering a reverse sweep at the hands of Arizona. Florida State is also out, against Oregon State. The Seminoles lost the first game against the Beavers, then won Saturday to force a Game 3 and then lost on Sunday night, 14-10.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish loses out on wide receiver Kohen Brown

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have had a heck of a run when it comes to recruiting. However, they lost out on wide receiver Kohen Brown. The Texas player recently decommitted from USC, and there was some hope that Marcus Freeman could work his magic.

Unfortunately, Steve Sarkissian was too big an obstacle to overcome. So was staying home in the Lone Star State, and Brown announced he’d committed to the Texas Longhorns on Sunday.

Notre Dame basketball lands massive commit in Jonathan Sanderson

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team got an enormous commitment from Jonathan Sanderson on Sunday. The point guard is among the best in the country, and despite being the only commit for Micah Shrewsberry, the Gatorade Player of the Year already has the Blue and Gold as the No. 4 class in the 2026 cycle.
