Notre Dame Fighting Irish star makes triumphant return to the court
After having to sit out the entire Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball season a year ago, Olivia Miles is healthy and ready to go. And on Wednesday night, she returned to the court for an actual game for the first time in over a year. Even if the game didn’t really count for anything.
Miles still made her triumphant return for a team that is hoping to make a rather long run in the NCAA Tournament. There’s even been some talk that they might be able to make the Final Four and after that, anything goes.
First thing’s first of course. Olivia Miles has to join Hannah Hidaldo, Sonia Citron and the rest and they need to show they can play as a team. If they can do that consistently, they’re going to be very good. But before all that, Miles stepped on the court on Wednesday night and she did so to quite the welcome.

On Twitter, LeVon Whittaker shared a couple of videos on Twitter that truly captured the crazy welcome Miles got after sitting out her junior year with an ACL tear. The ovation lasted for about 20 seconds and even when it died down, the atmosphere was clearly electric.
Miles returned to the court for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball team’s exhibition match. Their last tuneup before the regular season begins. For Miles and the rest of the squad, things couldn’t have gone better. They won the game. In the 101-41 victory over Davenport, Miles scored 15 pts, 10 reb, 9 ast, and 2 steals. That went along with Hannah Hidalgo’s 29 pts, 9 ast, 7 reb, 5 steals and new addition Liatu King’s 27 pts, 13 reb, 3 blk, 3 steals
