Junior Notre Dame Fighting Irish offensive lineman Aamil Wagner has been selected as a nominee for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which recognizes commitment to community service and leadership off the field.
This is hardly the first time an Irish star has been up for the team. Wagner is one of 197 nominees for the honor. The final roster of the 2025 Good Works Team will be announced in September and will consist of 22 football student-athletes and one honorary head coach. In 2024, Notre Dame linebacker Jack Kiser was selected to the team, and Irish head coach Marcus Freeman was named the team's honorary head coach for their efforts in the community.
In addition to being one of the best offensive linemen on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team, it's clear that Wagner is also stellar off the field.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish leader Drayk Bowen has his motivation
On3's Jack Soble sat down with Notre Dame linebacker Drayk Bowen earlier this week and talked about the upcoming season, but made sure to touch on the Irish loss to Ohio State in the National Title game. How it motivates him going into next season, and Bowen's answer is one of the best you will ever hear.
"Every time I open my phone, I see the score," Bowen said. "That's something I can carry with me."
Quartet of former Notre Dame stars set to appear in WNBA All-Star game
The WNBA's midseason classic is set in Indiana for the first time, and four former Notre Dame women's basketball players will get to take part, the second-most of any school in the nation.
Sonia Citron of the Washington Mystics, Skylar Diggins of the Seattle Storm, Kayla McBride of the Minnesota Lynx, and Jackie Young of the Las Vegas Aces will all appear when the All-Star game takes place on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
Marcus Freeman on a generational recruiting run
The Notre Dame football team has put together what appears to be one of its best recruiting classes in years for the 2026 cycle. In fact, it could be one of the best classes the Fighting Irish have ever seen.
Currently third in the nation, should they finish that high with the average ratings they have, the 2026 class would be the best since the "internet age." In other words, it would be the best class since recruiting services began tracking this information back in 2004.
