It's been one heck of a journey for former Notre Dame football star Benjamin Morrison. After two straight seasons interrupted by injury and a fall in the draft because of those injuries, the defensive back is now healthy and already proving he's still one of the top talents at his position.

Fall camp for the NFL officially kicked off this week with every team in the league starting to prepare for the regular season. Morrison, now a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he showed off his skills in a big way.

Former Notre Dame star Benjamin Morrison proving doubters wrong already

The Bucs shared a video on social media Monday showing the former Notre Dame football star playing tight coverage on a teammate. The footage showed that in a one-on-one competition, Morrison not only stayed with the opposing wide receiver but, after keeping the player in his hip pocket, made an acrobatic interception.

The play was one that showed just why the former Notre Dame defensive back was once considered the best at his position in the college ranks. It also showed why he was so confident that once he was healthy, he would show the NFL he should have gone higher in the draft.

Morrison is one of those stories that could come out of nowhere when talking about NFL fans. When healthy, Benjamin Morrison was one of the most feared shutdown corners in college sports. There was a time when he was considered an easy first-round pick. It was only due to his hip injury that the ex-Notre Dame football star didn't get to show that in 2024.
