When it comes to Notre Dame football defensive back Benjamin Morrison, the future is bright. It’s quite bright despite the fact that he’s missed time in each of the last two seasons due to injuries.
Morrison, one of the best defensive backs in college football when he’s on the field is taking his talents to the NFL now. And when he gets there, it looks like it’s a very safe bet that he’ll be a first-round pick.
One of the latest mock draft predictions came from PFF earlier this week and it has the former Notre Dame football star landing in a very good spot. While the site believes that Morrison could fall a bit because of his injuries, it has him getting selected in the first round by the Detroit Lions. A landing spot that looks a lot better these days considering the turnaround head coach Dan Campbell has done the last few seasons.

PFF talked specifically about Morrison’s hip injury as the driving force to him dropping a bit.
“Although Morrison has the tools to be selected in the front half of Round 1, he missed the back half of the 2024 season after suffering a hip injury that required surgery, which could see him slide come draft day. Given his profile as a solid man-coverage cornerback at Notre Dame, he would provide the Lions with a natural fit to replace the departing Carlton Davis III in Detroit’s Cover 1-heavy scheme.”
Earlier this month, the former Notre Dame football defensive back was projected to go earlier in the draft to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he would join his defensive coordinator Al Golden. The good news here is that it appears almost everyone sees Benjamin Morrison as a first-round pick.
