Mel Kiper has released his latest Round 1 Mock Draft and there was one big surprise for Notre Dame football fans in it. That surprise being that he no longer has a single Fighting Irish player getting selected in the first round.

This is a change for the Blue and Gold and defensive back Benjamin Morrison, mainly because he’s been in the first round for most Mock Drafts.

Notre Dame football corner falls out of the first round

Acme Packing Company listed out all the picks that Kiper made and demonstrated that the Notre Dame football team. A team that was the runner-up for the national championship is now somehow not getting a single pick in the first round.

Kiper had previously listed Morrison as a first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings. The star defensive back was also projected to go the Detroit Lions in the first round. Now he’s falling until at least the second round.

Benjamin Morrison won't represent Notre Dame football in 1st round

It’s worth pointing out that both the Vikings and Lions are near the end of the first round, so it’s not as though Morrison is falling far in this mock. Kiper thinks that instead of a defensive back, the Vikings are looking at Grey Zabel, an offensive lineman from North Dakota State.

While Kiper hadn’t predicted Morrison to the Lions, he has Detroit taking EDGE Oluwafemi Oladejo from UCLA. And so the Irish star will have to wait longer than expected

Kiper predicts there will be several corners picked before the Notre Dame football star. Travis Hunter, from Colorado, Will Johnson (Michigan), Azareye’h Thomas (Florida State), Maxwell Hairston (Kentucky) and Jahdae Barron out of Texas are expected to be taken in the first around.
