As the Notre Dame football team prepares for its showdown against the Georgia Bulldogs, it’s also thinking about what comes next. Specifically, it’s thinking about who will be back for 2025 and when they’ll be back.
Among those players that the Irish are looking forward to getting back is one of its most talented defensive linemen. Boubacor Traore has been out since the Purdue Boilermakers’ game. Now there appears to be a timeline for when he’ll return.
During the Notre Dame football media days, several Irish players talked about how they were coming back from injury. Among those was Traore who said that he’s on pace to return by late spring/early summer.
Notre Dame football defender is finally on the mend
"It's been feeling a lot better and I'm walking a lot better,” Traore said on Monday.
The edge rusher said that he tore his ACL in that game against Purdue. While the team had talked about a knee injury, this was the first time he confirmed exactly what the injury was.
And as it turned out, it’s an injury that will take a while to recover from. But he does believe as though he’s recovering. Traore added that the plan right now is for him to be back by May or early June.
Obviously, that means he’ll miss spring practices, but gives him plenty of time to be back for fall camp.
That’s extremely good news for a Notre Dame football team that will have to replace some very talented defenders.
