Those who come through the Notre Dame football team all have the same goal. They want to lead the Irish to a championship and then, when they’re playing days are done, they want a chance at the pros.
Where those dreams diverge is what these former Golden Domers go pro in. And ex-Fighting Irish quarterback Brandon Wimbush has demonstrated there’s plenty of opportunities off the gridiron.
Ex-Notre Dame football star gets big honor
Earlier this week, Wimbush was given a big time honor in the business world. The former quarterback was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list. This is quite the honor when it comes to the business world.
I'm fortunate to have tremendous influences around me and I am ultimately a product of those influences.

The goal is and should always be to pay it forward and help the next in line to make the world a better place.
This is my takeaway from the people that raised me and from… https://t.co/1Aj2fzIgTK
While it’s not quite the economic version of the Heisman Trophy, it would be like Wimbush earning the Davey O’Brien award during his playing days. In true Notre Dame football style, Wimbush credited his team when he talked about the honor, both in the article announcing the award and in a tweet later.
Brandon Wimbush: From the gridiron to entrepreneurship
Wimbush was included in Forbes’ sports category for his role in co-founding MOGL. This company is a trailblazer in a growing market that allows businesses to connect with college athletes in order to form NIL partnerships.
After founding MOGL, he’s since shifted to an advisory role and then started Duael Track, a televised running competition that hosts head-to-head races in a tournament-style format. While that venture hasn’t quite got off the ground yet, his shift shows that he’s always moving in the business world, an important trait to have.
Brandon Wimbush at Notre Dame:
- Played: 2015-2018
- Career Passing Yards: 2,606
- Career Passing TDs: 22 (to 12 INTs)
- Transferred to UCF for one season in 2019
Brandon Wimbush underlines what so many Notre Dame football commitments talk about when they first decide to be a member of the Fighting Irish. While his playing days were fine, it’s what he’s managed to do since taking his pads off for the final time that’s really impressive.
