CJ Carr has gotten off to a heck of a start to his Notre Dame football career. He's impressed all onlookers. Including the head coach of the Boise State Broncos.
Granted, it's not hard to be impressed when a quarterback throws for 354 yards and 4 touchdowns against an SEC program. That he's a redshirt freshman who is just four games into his career is plenty of reason to be quite impressed with the poise he's already shown over and over again in the pocket.
Broncos head coach Spencer Danielson isn't even the first one to say that the Notre Dame QB1 will be a first-round pick. However, he is one of the first to say it so publicly and so confidently as he did during his weekly press conference heading into his team's showdown with the Fighting Irish on Saturday.
CJ Carr gets big hype from Notre Dame football's next opponent
"CJ is going to be a future first-round draft pick. I don't think I'm the first one who will say that." - Boise State head coach on Notre Dame QB CJ Carr pic.twitter.com/vNhA3UaOaV

"C. J., their quarterback, man, he's going to be a future first-round draft pick. I don't think I'm the first one that will say that. He has that type of potential, and he has that type of leadership accuracy. That's who he is as a quarterback," Danielson said as part of his assessment of the Irish star.
The Broncos head coach then explained what exactly Carr has done that's impressed him so much so far.
"He can make every throw. He's extremely athletic, can run, can make every throw. But for a freshman, I'm extremely impressed with his decision-making."
"I mean, he gives the ball exactly where it should be, on time, where it should go. He runs a pro-style offense that has a lot of shifts and motions and complications to it. And he operates at a very, very high level."
The most impressive thing about Carr is that he's had a ton of hype surrounding him since he became the heir apparent starter in the spring. In the summer, he was mentioned as a possible Heisman finalist before he ever took a meaningful snap.
After he led Notre Dame to its 56-13 win, there started to be real talk about CJ Carr possibly even being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft when he becomes eligible. So far, that doesn't seem all that crazy.
