While there isn’t an official release date, it appears as though several Notre Dame football luminaries are going to be directly involved in EA Sports College Football 2026. Their involvements were revealed during a leaked look at the cover for this year’s version of the game.
While there isn’t much info known about EA Sports College Football 2026, it looks like info is starting to come out. EA brought together several players and mascots, as well as coaches for a cover shoot.
Among those who went to the Rose Bowl for this photo shoot was Notre Dame football running back Jeremiyah Love. In a bit of a game of “where’s Waldo,” there were reports that Marcus Freeman was spotted on the cover of the Deluxe Edition of the game as well. There’s a couple of reasons why that’s exciting info.

Notre Dame football featured on next EA Sports College Football game
Anyone who got a look at the cover might have noted that there were a lot of players and coaches. According to On3, that’s because there are going to be a number of different covers with different players.
Just what version of the cover Love and Freeman might be on isn’t known. It’s not clear if there will be that many different versions with different price points, or whether it might be a thing like Athlon Magazine does, where different covers will be released for different regions of the country.
One of the biggest changes to EA Sports College Football 2026 could be that Freeman is involved at all. One of the biggest items on the wishlist for future editions of the game when the title was released last year, is to have real head coaches in the game.
While there hasn’t been an official announcement, Freeman and other coaches being involved in the cover would seem to indicate they will be in the game. That’s certainly going to be a selling point for Notre Dame football fans, even if there are only some coaches in this year’s version of the game.
