As Notre Dame football prepares for the Georgia Bulldogs, there are three players that fans and media are keeping a special eye on. Two of them carry pretty straightforward injury updates following the Irish win over Indiana.

During the game, several questions surrounded star running back Jeremiyah Love and defensive lineman Rylie Mills. According to head coach Marcus Freeman and Love, the running back has been both sick and coming back from injury, but it should be good to go against Georgia.

There is also optimism around Rylie Mills, though it’s not as concrete. The Notre Dame football team has said the initial reports indicate the defensive lineman could also be back in time for the Sugar Bowl. However, there’s still quite a few questions around Rocco Spindler.

Spindler was spotted on the sideline in street clothes during the third quarter of Friday’s College Football Playoff game against Indiana. Sophomore Sam Pendleton replaced him at right guard in the second half.

Earlier in the game, Spindler went into the injury tent, then emerged, did a few calf raises and went back into the game. However, since he sat out the entire second half, it appears that whatever he thought he could play through was more serious than suspected.

After the game, the focus of questions was on Mills and Love and it appears that there was no update from Freeman about Spindler. For now, the Notre Dame football faithful are sitting and waiting for news. Hopefully that news will come Monday when Freeman addresses the media.
