Notre Dame football expects good news on Jeremiyah Love for Georgia

After a dominant performance in the College Football Playoff win, concerns arose about the health of a key player. What's the latest on their status for the next round?

The Notre Dame football team wasn’t too far into celebrating their first ever College Football Playoff win when the questions came. “What’s up with Jeremiyah Love?”

Love sent a message early in the game against Indiana with a 98-yard touchdown run to put the Blue and Gold up 7-0. He did it on the first play after Xavier Watts picked off IU quarterback Kurtis Rourke. However, the star running back played sparingly from there on out. And at one point, after reentering the game late in the third quarter, Love could be seen limping badly on the sideline. So do the Irish expect Love back for the second round of the playoffs?

After the Notre Dame football game, Love said his biggest issue is that he’s been sick. He’s also still not entirely back from the injury he suffered against USC. But he was glad he was able to play against Indiana and help his team get the win.

Notre Dame football star should be back for Georgia

“Being able to come into this game and do what I do for my team,” Love said. “It was special."

Head coach Marcus Freeman made it clear that the staff knows his star running back isn’t 100% but they’re going to work over the next week plus to get him as close as possible to being all the way back.

"We're going to keep getting him healthy,” Freeman said after the game in which Jeremiyah Love ran for 108 yards and a TD on 8 carries.

It makes sense why the Notre Dame football team would want to make sure he’s ok. The offense struggled when he wasn’t doing what he does. And it’s a safe bet that the Georgia Bulldogs will be a stauncher opponent than an Indiana Hoosiers team that at times, looked scared to even be on the same field.
