The Notre Dame football team is working on a couple of things in spring practice. Among the top items the Irish are looking at closely, is how the offensive line is going to shake out.
While there is a lot of good depth, especially at the tackle position, it’s not entirely clear how all of this is going to go. That’s why names that have mostly been in the background are coming forward.
The Notre Dame football team is looking to see who is going to step up. Among those who might be able to step forward the most effectively is one Styles Prescod. The freshman tackle is getting noticed in practice, even if he’s not getting as many headlines as some others. That’s certainly clear to analyst Jack Soble who talked about how Prescod is performing quite well in the early going of this period.

Notre Dame football freshman is raising eyebrows at the tackle position
“He’s someone who I don't think was really present in our offensive line conversations throughout the offseason,” Soble started. “But I asked Bryce Young, like, hey, who are some of the tackles who are stepping up? Because Knapp is not practicing too much. Wagner's not practicing too much. And he said, like, yeah, it's Styles Prescod was the first name he mentioned.”
“He said he's having a good spring so far. And I asked Joe Rudolph about that, about him as well. And he said he's flashed and you can see him do some really good things. He missed the fall season with shoulder surgery. But he's a guy who … has some intriguing traits for an offensive tackle.”
This is one of those things that’s going to be more obvious as the spring practice session goes on, but it can’t hurt for an unexpected name to emerge for the Notre Dame football team.
