While former Notre Dame wide receiver Beaux Collins didn't hear his name getting called during the NFL draft, he's still getting an opportunity to make the New York Giants roster as an UDFA. In the process, he's showing exactly why teams take these long-shot chances every year.
Collins is having such a good preseason that there are more than a few onlookers who think that the wide receiver might be pushing for a starting spot. It's not just that he's showing out, but when he's showing out. Collins appears to get quite a few first-team reps when he appears in preseason games.
From Notre Dame to New York, Beaux Collins is impressing onlookers
Among those who think the former Notre Dame star might be competing for a starting spot is Jordan Raanan, ESPN's Giants beat reporter, who said earlier this week: "You are getting first-team reps, that means something, at this point in the summer."

It's hard to know how much of Collins' development with the Giants is because Malik Nabers has been out with an injury, but the former Notre Dame star is still taking full advantage of the opportunity. When Nabers returns, the Giants have an interesting puzzle to solve between Wandale Robinson, Collins, and Nabers.
With better quarterbacks than New York has had for quite a while, the Giants will have a better passing attack than they've had in several years. That, of course, relies on Russell Wilson and/or Jaxson Dart showing up the way that's expected in 2025.
Most recently, Wilson and Collins showed off what could be when they hooked up on an 80-yard pass in the Giants' latest preseason game. The bomb almost scored a touchdown and showed how the wideout was able to beat double coverage and find separation.
While that 80-yard catch was Collins' only one in the most recent Giants' game, he continues to impress onlookers. It appears that the former Notre Dame star has managed to convince many he's no longer competing for a roster spot and is instead staring at a starting spot.
