There are tons of stories surrounding the Notre Dame football team's rivalry game against USC, but Beaux Collins' is one of the most interesting ones.

With the number of stories surrounding the Notre Dame football team this season, it can be easy to get lost. There’s the season starting quarterback Riley Leonard is putting together after getting off to a very rough start.

There’s the defense continuing to be one of the best units in the sport. And there’s Jeremiyah Love, who looks like he might be an early contender for the 2025 Heisman.

With all that talk, transfer wide receiver Beaux Collins’ only season with the Notre Dame football team has been rather under the radar. He’d like to grab the spotlight on Saturday afternoon though. When the Irish take on the USC Trojans, he’ll be looking to help his team to clinch a playoff spot, while also going through a bit of a homecoming.

“I don’t even know how to explain it,” Collins said earlier this week. “Growing up, I thought I’d always be the one in the red and gold, but it obviously didn’t play out like that. I’m on a better team now. It’s going to be crazy man, just knowing where I was when I was a kid, just watching guys play there and being able to play there now, it’s amazing.”

“We do a good job of making sure the young guys stay focused and don’t look too far ahead,” explained Collins. “Coach Free does a good job of reminding us what the pain was like after that NIU loss. We’ve done a great job of not forgetting it — the season went by just like that — and it’s just a by-product of us coming in to work every day, staying in the moment, staying where out feet are, things like that, quite literally. The entire team has done a great job with that.”

The former Clemson Tiger likely envisioned a more impressive season than his 34 catches for 427 yards and 2 TDs. Though he is the leading receiver for the Irish.

He’s also looking to be a leader of the Notre Dame football team in general. It will be key for him to help keep the noise out and just play against USC. It would be nice to see Collins really go off in his homecoming as well.
