When the Notre Dame football team takes on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday, there’s all sorts of people OSU is going to have to worry about.

Jeremiah Love, Riley Leonard, Xavier Watts, Marcus Freeman, Al Golden, Mike Denbrock. Every single one of those names have something in common beyond being a member of the Fighting Irish. None of them are wide receivers.

It’s safe to say that the Buckeyes are probably overlooking the Notre Dame football wide receiver corps. Especially with Beux Collins hampered. Jaden Greathouse wants everyone to know that if Ohio State overlooks the wide receiver corps, they’re going to be in for a world of hurt.

Notre Dame football wide receivers not to be messed with

Greathouse appeared in front of the media earlier this week and clarified that he takes it personally that his position group is an afterthought.

“We're really not to be messed with,” Greathouse said. “I mean, we have playmakers, and whether everybody sees that or not, we don't really care. We're going to do what we do, and I love those guys in the receiver room. I know what they can do, and any one of them on the field, I trust them, and I know that they're going to be a big player, so you've got to watch out.”

There’s a reason why Greathouse is so confident. He’s coming off a career-best outing in the Orange Bowl against Penn State.

It’s not just that he had 7 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. He also put some moves on the defenders that left them literally sitting on their butts in the middle of the field.

But he’s also got confidence in teammates like Jordan Faison, who had a career-best game in the first round of the College Football Playoffs. Faison hauled down 7 catches for for 89 yards against Indiana. And against Georgia he had another good game as he nabbed 4 catches for 46 yards.

Greathouse is onto something. The Notre Dame football team will need to be able to lean on its wide receivers. If they do show up, that might be the secret weapon against Ohio State on Monday night.
