It feels like maybe the universe is trying to send a message about how good things are for the Notre Dame football team this year. Not only is the program in a position to make a run in the first 12-team college football playoffs, but there are also quite a few school records that are falling or on the verge of collapsing.

Marcus Freeman has already tied one record for the most wins over Top 25 teams in his first three years. He has a chance to stand alone with that record should Army stay in the Top 25 by the time the two teams play.

Jack Kiser will set a record for games played for Notre Dame football when he sets foot on the field against Virginia. And while Jeremiyah Love can’t set a record against the Cavaliers but he can stay on pace for one. Love has scored a touchdown in every game this season. If he continues to score a touchdown in every game all the way to the end of the season, he’ll have the Irish record.

Notre Dame football’s Jeremiyah Love on verge of record

Love, who is having a good season (583 yards, 10 TD, 17 catches, 160 yards and another touchdown) even without the idea of setting a school record, is currently fourth in program history when it comes to consecutive games with a touchdown at 9. He’s one of four players in the country who has a TD in every game so far.

He’ll need to keep the streak and get it to 12. He does that he’ll be all alone. Should he only get to 11, he would still be tied for the best ever.

This one is another to watch in a Notre Dame football season that has certainly been interesting.
