Jordan Faison was one of the top two-sport athletes in the country, let alone at Notre Dame. He was, rather than is, because as of Friday, the wide receiver/lacrosse player is sticking to football.

Faison led the Fighting Irish in both receptions (49) and receiving yards (640) in 2025 and scored four touchdowns. He initially joined the football team as a walk-on in 2023 and was thrust into action because of injuries late in the season, earning Sun Bowl MVP honors after a 115-yard performance against Oregon State. The 5-foot-10, 183-pound Faison had 30 receptions in 2024.

Faison played 12 games for the Notre Dame lacrosse team in 2025, contributing nine goals and five assists. There was a time when it looked like lacrosse was where his future lay, as he was a top-50 national recruit from Florida. Faison started for Notre Dame as a freshman in 2024 and had 22 goals and eight assists, helping the Irish to the national title.

Jordan Faison is all-in on Notre Dame football

Jordan steps away from the lacrosse program to focus on the football team, just as his brother is set to join the program. Jordan's younger brother Dylan signed with both the football and lacrosse teams in December. Dylan Faison will enroll in January and was ranked as the nation's top lacrosse player in the 2026 recruiting class, according to Freeman.

Jordan Faison's decision to move to football only seems to be yet another signal that all those involved with the Notre Dame football team want 2026 to be a kind of "unfinished business" type season. For the wide receiver, it means explicitly that he'll be with Marcus Freeman's group for spring practice.
