There's little doubt that Notre Dame football legend Kyle Hamilton is one of the best safeties in the NFL. Now the Baltimore Ravens have underlined that by making him the best-paid safety in the National Football League.

If there was any doubt that B-more valued all that Hamilton offers, one of the better defenses in the league, one need look no further than the contract agreement the two sides reached, which is the second big payday for Hamilton since the spring. Earlier this year, the Ravens picked up the option on the former Fighting Irish star's contract. They made it clear at the time that they also wanted to extend his deal for multiple years.

Why Notre Dame football fans should care about Kyle Hamilton’s record extension

According to numerous reports, the Notre Dame football legend signed a new deal on Wednesday morning that will see him paid more than $100 million over the next four years.

The deal is the largest for a safety in the history of the NFL. Hamilton now clears the highest paid at his position in the league with $82 million guaranteed. Over the life of the contract, he'll make about $25.1 million per year.

The number means he passed, who was the highest paid safety in the league in the Detroit Lions' Kerby Joseph. The guaranteed number is also a massive jump over the previous record of $45 million.

Kyle Hamilton is entering his fourth year in the NFL having been a full-time starter for the last two. The former Notre Dame football star racked up 107 tackles, 9 passes defended and an interception last season.
