Now that Notre Dame football has its 2027 quarterback in the boat, the Irish are full speed ahead on finding theri 2028 signal caller.

Among the early candidates to get a ND offer is Princeton, New Jersey's Lucas Prock. According to On3's Mike Singer, Irish quarterback coach Gino Guidugli took a visit to Prock's Hun School to get a better look at the gunslinger.

The visit to see Prock came right around the same time that Wonderful "Champ" Monds pulled the trigger for Notre Dame on the Pat McAfee show. That commitment continued an incredible hot streak for Marcus Freeman, Guidugli, and the rest of the Irish staff when it comes to reeling in some of the best quarterback prospects in the country.

Lucas Prock is emerging as a serious 2028 quarterback target for Notre Dame football

It's not remotely a mystery why the Irish, as well as schools like Ohio State, Penn State, Illinois and many others have come calling. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound 4-star prospect put together an incredible 2025 season as just a sophomore.

Prock completed 226 of 309 pass attempts (73%) while throwing for 4,330 yards, 41 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions. Those numbers hint at someone who could become even more popular among the best schools in the country if he can have a similar junior campaign.

Already among the Top 100 prospects for the 2028 class, the next step for Notre Dame football (which offered on April 30) is to get Prock to campus a few times and make sure he gets the full South Bend experience.
