June is a crucial month for Notre Dame to secure one of the nation’s top recruiting classes. While most attention is on the 2027 class, the Irish are also preparing for an important start to the 2028 cycle. Among the 2028 prospects is Maddon Martin, notable as the son of Notre Dame’s general manager, Mike Martin.
The younger Martin plans for a very busy June, one that will almost certainly exhaust him. By releasing his unofficial visit schedule for the month, he demonstrates his intent to take in as many programs as possible as a cornerback out of Saint Joseph in South Bend. The Irish also expect a packed month, but they prepare to get a good look at the talented defender towards the end of June.
Martin explained that his track success forced him to adjust his schedule. He has excelled in the 4x100, prompting changes to which schools he visits and when. He also listed which camps he plans to attend. Although he is not currently camping with Notre Dame, his location in South Bend gives the Irish a real edge, should they decide to offer.
“After qualifying for state in the 4x100 meter relay, my visit and camp schedule has been adjusted,” Martin wrote on Twitter. “I’m excited to still be able to go to visit the schools I can go to and ball out at camps! Camps include Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Indiana.”

Maddon Martin’s June visit schedule gives Notre Dame football a 2028 storyline
Starting on June 8, the defensive back intends to visit Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Cincinnati. On June 9, he plans stops at Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State. On June 10, Martin will head to Kentucky and Louisville; on June 11, he expects to visit Indiana and Ball State. He will wrap up these whirlwind trips on June 12 with visits to Notre Dame and Illinois.
Martin still remains relatively under the radar. Major recruiting services have yet to rank him, but he is starting to draw more notice. He currently holds offers from Auburn, Miami (O), San Diego State, Alabama State, and Austin Peay. With the sheer number of teams he plans to visit over the next few weeks, Power 4 programs will likely pursue him even more aggressively.
When Martin returns to the Notre Dame campus later this month, he will get a very good look at a school he knows well, since his father works there and he lives just a stone’s throw away.
Interest in Maddon Martin will almost certainly ramp up once more schools see what he can do in his junior year. In 2025, the defensive back racked up 34 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 11 PBUs. That last number will almost certainly catch the eye of Notre Dame defensive backs coach Aaron Henry. If Martin can replicate his sophomore season’s coverage numbers, the Irish will appreciate having an inside track with his father.
