The Notre Dame football team is starting fall camp, but that doesn't mean it's slowing down its pursuit of 2027 prospects. One of the latest players to land on Marcus Freeman and Co.'s radar is Quentin Burrell.

Burrell is the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois, the No. 8 wide receiver, and No. 49 overall player in the class of 2027 according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. The 4-star prospect out of Mount Carmel (Chicago, IL) has offers from a ton of Big Ten programs, but at the moment, the Fighting Irish look like the best offer and are the slight leader in the clubhouse among On3 analysts.

The next step for Notre Dame football is to try to get Quentin Burrell back to South Bend for an unofficial visit. It looks as though there's a very good chance that will happen very shortly. It seems likely that he'll be in South Bend for a game this fall for at least one of those trips.

Burrell has been talking to Director of Recruiting Carter Auman and student assistant Justice Bathas, most recently, about his plans for a trip.

"We've been texting and calling and communicating," Burrell recently told Irish Sports Daily. "Just saying that they need me there and then, just talking about the degree and the fit, and making the relationship, and getting up to games; just seeing more of the school and learning more about it.

"I think they're really good people. They're really cool. They make an effort to try to talk to me, make me feel wanted. So I like them a lot.”

Burrell has already made visits to the Notre Dame football team in April and June. Now he plans on getting a look at the atmosphere and the fans on a Saturday when the Irish are hyped up and ready to play.
