4-star cornerback Ashton "Ace" Alston is beginning to evaluate the contenders in his recruitment process, with multiple schools making an impression, and it should surprise no one at all that Notre Dame football is right up there with the best of them.

Fresh off landing a pair of Blue Chip 4-star prospects in the Fighting Irish's 2027 class, Marcus Freeman and company have drawn a bead on Alston. However, the school has its work cut out for it still, as there are plenty of other power programs hot on the heels of the Anderson (Cincinnati, OH) prospect.

Alston, a Top-15 cornerback in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle, has earned a myriad of offers across his prep career, with the LSU Tigers, Notre Dame football team, and Ohio State firmly in the mix.

Alston has taken multiple unofficial visits this offseason, with a trip to Baton Rouge being checked off the list in May. He also plans on lining up several more visits this fall, and it's here where the Irish might end up getting to show the talented defender what South Bend has to offer.

With the commitments of defensive lineman Ellis McGaskin and 4-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard already on the books for Notre Dame, Freeman and Co. are looking to keep adding to a great start to the 2027 class. Alston would certainly fit that bill.

It's too early to make an accurate prediction on where Alston will play college football, as he's only entering his junior year of high school. Early models list the Volunteers as the favorites, but a lot can change. The Notre Dame football team is hoping it can get that unofficial visit this fall and make a strong impression on the young star.
