One former Notre Dame Fighting Irish coach currently finds himself between a rock and a hard place following the 2025 NFL Draft. Tommy Rees is no doubt, wondering what exactly he did to deserve this.

The “this” in the Cleveland Browns situation is drafting Shedeur Sanders in the 5th round and seemingly doing it at the orders of the team’s owner, considering they’d taken another quarterback just a round earlier. Now Tommy Rees has to deal with the circus that will come with Sanders and try to put together an offense that can function without any quarterback that is the clear cut starter.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish catch a 4-star’s attention

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are having a heck of a run recruiting wise. That run has gotten the attention of some of the best recruits in the country who are still looking for a landing spot. One such player is one of the best of the 2027 class.

Ellis McGaskin seems to have taken real note of the Irish landing Ayden Pouncey and he might have some interest in being the defensive back’s teammate. That can only be good news for Marcus Freeman and company.

Jeremiyah Love in the 2026 mock draft

Now that the 2025 draft is over, it’s officially time to turn our attention to the 2026 version. One early mock draft has Notre Dame Fighitng Irish star getting selected in the first round.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports believes that the Jeremiyah Love will go in the first round and believes he’s around the No. 16 player in the draft. At the moment, that has him going to the Houston Texans, but of course, they have to be that bad in order to grab the Notre Dame star.
