The Notre Dame football team is on one heck of a recruiting run. That’s been obvious for a while now. The program is on such a roll now that Marcus Freeman and company are not content trying to lock down their uncommitted targets; they’re now going out of their way to try and flip dudes committed to another school, as in the case of one Efrem White.

White, a 4-star athlete from Vero Beach (Vero Beach, FL), has been committed to Florida State since December 2023. According to On3, he is the No. 10 athlete and No. 33 player in the state of Florida. For so long, he seemed like an eventual Seminole. And yet, he’s starting to look around.

Marcus Freeman enters the Efrem White race and Florida State should be nervous

According to Mike Singer, the Notre Dame football team has locked down an unofficial visit from White. That would be the first step in Freeman and his staff getting their collective foot in the door of a full-on flip.

The Irish offered a scholarship to White last week, apparently seeing a bit of space between the talented player and Florida State. He is also scheduled to check out North Carolina. It’s possible that the trip was the catalyst that convinced the Irish coaches it was worth the effort.

Things could also be moving relatively fast, considering the athlete has now scheduled a visit for June 1. This one will just be overnight, hence the unofficial tag but it could also mean an official visit later in the summer.

The race for Efrem White is just ramping up. Florida State and everyone else involved is smart enough to know that no one should count out the Notre Dame football program, especially with how much success in such a short period it’s managed to log.
