If you thought the Notre Dame football team was having quite the month recruiting-wise, then you haven’t seen anything yet. What if two of the remaining top targets for the Fighting Irish talked each other into spending their college days in South Bend?
Blue and Gold fans are allowed to dream on such things, especially when Joey O’Brien and Javian Osborne are talking to each other about “teaming up” on social media. After all, one of the schools that is considered to be in the running to land both top-notch targets is none other than Marcus Freeman’s squad.
The idea of a team up was started when an announcement began circulating Twitter that O’Brien - a 4-star athlete projected to the defensive backfield - narrowed the list of teams he was considering down to six programs, including the Notre Dame football program. Osborne quote tweeted, and said, “Brother let’s do something special and team up! Let’s build it!” O’Brien then quote-tweeted back with several eyes emojis.

Unsurprisingly, this got Irish fans more than a little excited. After all, both players have recruiting analysts believing they’ll end up in South Bend. That they might be working together to make that happen would get any fanbase fired up.
O’Brien is considered the No. 2 athlete and No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania. He’s also considered the No. 69 player in the entire 2026 class, according to On3’s Industry Rankings.
Meanwhile, Osborne is a 4-star running back out of Texas who is the No. 8 player at his position, the No. 14 player in the Lone Star State, and the No. 103 player in the 2026 class.
On March 21, O’Brien received a couple of projections to go to Notre Dame including from EJ Holland who is actually a Michigan Wolverines analyst. Steve Wiltfong also predicted the defensive back would end up with Freeman and his crew.
While Anderson isn’t quite a big a lock, he also got two predictions at the start of April from Blue and Gold analyst Mike Singer and Wiltfong again. In other words, it appears for now that the potential Notre Dame football team up could happen relatively soon.
