The writing was on the wall for the Notre Dame football team after running back prospect Isaiah Rogers paid a visit to South Bend. This past weekend, that writing was bolded, underlined, and put into 34-point font. Now, after receiving predictions that he'd commit to Marcus Freeman's squad, he officially pulled the trigger on Monday afternoon.
When it came time to decide between the Golden Domers, Georgia, Penn State, and Indiana, he decided that South Bend was home. When he talked to Irish Sports Daily, he explained that the reason he picked the Irish is that they checked the same three boxes he was clear he wanted to see when he visited.
"I would just say my three things I preached to you before, culture, ability to go to the NFL, and my relationship with the coaches," the newest Notre Dame commit told the publication. When it came to his relationship with the coaches, he called out Freeman and his position coach, Ja'Juan Seider, specifically.
Isaiah Rogers says Notre Dame football checked every box in his recruitment
"Coach Seider and Coach Freeman are amazing coaches, great teachers who are going to develop me on and off the field. I feel like even setting me up going to Notre Dame outside of football. I feel like I would have a great opportunity."
Rogers also admitted that he hadn't really thought about life after football. However, the Irish culture made it very clear that he would be set up there as well if he spent his college years on their campus.Â
Isaiah Rogers is a 4-star prospect in the 2027 class and one of the most interesting aspects of his commitment is that he's the second running back in the last five days to pledge to the Fighting Irish.Â
Rogers is now the 9th commit to Notre Dame and the second running back alongside Texas speedster Lathan Whisenton.
