The Notre Dame football team's recruiting efforts are going quite well. Several prospects hold the Fighting Irish in high regard. Now they're turning their attention to Oklahoma running back commit Keldrid Ben. The flip efforts include a visit to South Bend this weekend.

The Texas native opted for the Sooners in December of last year, but the 247Sports No. 142 overall prospect might be looking to play elsewhere. In a report by On3, Ben has been speaking with multiple schools, but this will be his first visit since committing to Oklahoma. His social media is extremely pro-Sooners, but with them switching running back coaches, it's opened the door for the Irish.

According to Blue and Gold, Notre Dame has kicked open the door and secured a visit from Ben in the next few days. That's the first step in flipping the commitment, though the 4-star prospect out of Montgomery, Texas, is pursued by plenty of Power conference teams.

In addition to Oklahoma and Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, and Wisconsin are all hoping to eventually reel in Rivals' No. 22 running back and No. 309 player in the 2027 class.

It's not hard to see why the Irish and every other big program are interested in Keldrid Ben. Last year, he finished an 11-game junior season with 1,560 yards and 15 TDs on 10.3 yards per carry, while catching 16 passes for 299 yards and 3 TDs on 18.7 yards per reception. That was a big jump from his sophomore season, showing that he did what he needed to do as "the man" for his team. Still, as a sophomore, he ran for 375 yards and 5 TDs on 7.35 ypc. He added 6 catches for 96 yards and 2 TDs.

With Keldrid Ben in South Bend this weekend, Notre Dame will press for a new commitment. Even if he doesn't pull the trigger in the next few days, the battle with Oklahoma is officially on, and Marcus Freeman usually gets his man.
