While there are some players who will go to the combine to interview with prospective NFL teams but not actually work out, that’s not the case with Notre Dame football’s signal-caller.

According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Leonard is preparing to throw for prospective employers. It stands to reason that he will also run the 40-yard dash considering that his running ability is a big part of sales job at the next level.

Leonard is one of the better quarterbacks at the combine who is actually going to work out. And that alone could be a very big thing for the former Irish gunslinger. Pelissero reported that alongside Leonard, Ole Miss’s Jaxson Dart, and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe will also throw.

On the other side is Miami QB Cam Ward who has been guarding his health since the Hurricanes’ season ended without a playoff berth.

Now that Riley Leonard is planning on throwing at the NFL combine, it will be interesting to see how the former Notre Dame QB1 can move up the charts. He’s impressed people with his toughness and winning this season. Now he needs to impress them with his arm.
