The Notre Dame football team is 0-2. There are plenty of people who think the Fighting Irish season is over. And yet, former wide receiver Robby Toma believes the opposite. He thinks Marcus Freeman and Co. are about to take out their frustrations on the Boilermakers.
The Irish are almost four-touchdown favorites over the in-state rival. That's hardly a surprise, considering how bad the Big Ten team has been over the last few years, especially. While they've improved so far this year, the Irish have quite a bit more talent. And that's why Toma believes Saturday afternoon could get ugly for Purdue fans.
The former Notre Dame football wide receiver thinks this Saturday will look quite a bit like the last time the Irish took on Purdue after a bad loss.
"Unfortunately for Purdue, they're probably going to meet a buzzsaw this weekend. And if I'm not mistaken, we beat up on Purdue after NIU," Toma told Rivals analyst Mike Singer. "So Purdue, I apologize, you're going to have to be another doormat."

"I think we go in there and we pound Purdue and we get this thing back on track."
The last time Notre Dame took on Purdue, it was coming off a loss to Northern Illinois. At the time, there was talk that Marcus Freeman wasn't the man for the job. And then they blew out the Big Ten also-ran, 66-7.
Things are a bit more dire this year since the Notre Dame football team is 0-2 and is barely in the Top 25. It's also missing a few key defenders. And yet, at least one analyst thinks this week could be another turnaround game.
