When Robert Hainsey was a member of the Notre Dame football program, he was someone to be feared. Now he’s moved onto the pros and just recently got a brand new contract that will see him haul in some serious cash and likely return to a starting role.

Certainly someone who was a two-time team captain and one of the best offensive linemen in the country during his time in South Bend has a good idea of what makes the best unit in the trenches that one can be. That’s why when he stood up and listed what would be his top unit, Irish fans should listen.

The Jacksonville Jaguars social media team decided it was time to ask the team’s new acquisition who he would put on his ultimate offensive line team. It should surprise no one that he struggled a bit and hemmed and hawed about who would make the cut: “I'm going to go with the positions they play at in their name. Zach Martin, left tackle. Quentin Nelson, left guard. Nick Martin at center. Mike McGlinchey at right tackle. Oh my gosh. Joe Alt? Dang.”

“There's a lot of good ones,” Hainsey continued. “I left out some great ones. I'll put Zach at right guard because he's obviously a first ballot Hall of Famer right guard. So we'll do that. We'll keep Mike McGlinchey at right tackle and we'll put Joe at left tackle. That's a pretty solid group if you ask me. God, that's awesome.”

Of the names on that list, Joe Alt might raise the most eyebrows considering he’s played just one season in the NFL so far. Clearly he’s been impressive people, including former Notre Dame football stars with the way he’s handled himself at the next level.
