Sometimes it feels like the Notre Dame football team just can’t stop taking sniper fire from people who have left the program. Obviously that happens in the sports world all the time for one reason or another, but considering the tight knit nature of Marcus Freeman’s team, it feels especially odd that so many people who left for one reason or another can’t stop taking some sort of shot at the Irish.
Granted, when it comes to Chad Bowden, there seems to be some maliciousness. He seems to be actively looking to malign Marcus Freeman for one reason or another. For former offensive lineman Rocco Spindler, his comments about Notre Dame weren’t supposed to be public. They serviced after someone in the room told a reporter and On3 published his comments.
Still, it’s a bit frustrating to hear that the former Notre Dame football star told the Nebraska Cornhuskers that they are actually better than the Irish were. That the difference is that the Blue and Gold had more confidence.

Ex-Notre Dame football star calls Nebraska ‘more talented’
Of course, what Spindler said can absolutely be dismissed as someone trying to hype up his new team. It’s still frustrating.
It’s still one of those things that Irish fans should say “what the heck?”
It would certainly seem that the Notre Dame football team, as a whole, had more talent than the Nebraska Cornhuskers. And the fact that Nebraska just barely made a bowl game and the Irish made the National Title game is just one reason why.
