Nearly a week into his first fall camp with the Notre Dame football team, new running backs coach Ja'Juan is as impressed with his running back room as he's ever been. Having Jeremiyah Love in that room is a big part of it, but it's not the be-all and end-all. What Seider is most impressed by is that, despite Love clearly being the top rusher, the Irish managed to keep the group together.
At the end of the first few days of Notre Dame's fall camp, the Irish running backs coach talked about the selflessness of everyone in the room. He thinks in this day and age, it's incredibly impressive that Love has backups with the talent of Jadarian Price and Kedren Young, let alone Aneyas Williams.
Ja'Juan Seider praises an unselfish Notre Dame football room led by Jeremiyah Love
"The one thing I can say about the whole room," the Notre Dame football running backs coach said on Friday. "So refreshing to be unselfish, I mean, I think when you talk to these kids, kudos to them. And we had every kid come back, and the world was easy to transfer and go chase money."
“We had every kid come back in a world where it’s easy to transfer & go chase money.”

New ND Running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider calls his group unselfish after each player returned despite a loaded room & new coach.

"Every kid stayed the course. They know Jay Love's here. They know Jadarian's here. They're waiting their time. To me, I can't thank that room enough, and I tell them all the time, man, I appreciate you guys being unselfish. I just want to say that as their coach, they better come in this room. New coach, nobody leaves, and they stayed in a crowded room."
After Seider finished his time at the mic, one of those aforementioned running backs, Young, sat down and underlined what his coach said about him and the rest of the group.
"I'm just focused on getting better every day, 1% better every day. That's what coach always tells us. I just, like I said, I said this earlier. Like, I learn from the other guys. That's how I try to make my game better. You know, trust my coaching, trust my teammates, and I think I'll get better every day if I do that."
The level of talent in the Notre Dame football running backs room makes it arguably the best in the entire country. Unsurprisingly, that talent is expected to help a potent offense have a shot at the National Title game.
