The Notre Dame football team is seeing a serious uptick among some of its top targets. So far, that uptick has led to just one commit in the last few weeks. Ebenezer Ewetade’s pledge boosted the defensive line haul. And now it looks like the Irish are about to add to their Tight End U reputation.

Starting in May, it appears there’s a real chance that the Blue and Gold could see a ton of commitments. Among those commitments, On3’s Steve Wiltfong believes that the Irish are about to get themselves a 4-star tight end.

Evan Jacobson, out of Waukee, Iowa has been predicted to eventually land on the Notre Dame football team. And when he does it will mean beating out some SEC powers like Auburn, Ohio State and Florida State.

Evan Jacobson could be the next big name to join Notre Dame football

The prediction that Marcus Freeman and company will land Jacobson comes not long after he took an unofficial visit to South Bend. That trip was on April 4 and it looks like analysts around the recruiting world believe he really liked what he saw.

The 6-foot-7, 220 pound tight end is headed back to the Notre Dame campus on June 20. It’s entirely possible that when he does go back to see more of the Fighitng Irish, he could pull the trigger on a commitment.

As is usually the case with these top prospects, they want to make the pledge before their senior season starts.

In the next few months, the Notre Dame football team could be hauling in some of the best players in the 2025 class. It appears that Evan Jacobson could definitely be one of the guys that the team could land. And if and when they do, the 2026 recruiting class could be quite the jump.
