The Notre Dame football team has a purported cupcake on the schedule after opening the season against two Top 25 teams. If everything goes right, this Saturday could be an avenue for the Fighting Irish to take out some aggression. They face off against a Purdue team they absolutely ran off the field last season when they were in a similar situation.

The Irish will face off against the Boilermakers on Saturday at 3:30 pm on NBC/Peacock. The line for the game has officially been released, and Las Vegas also believes Marcus Freeman and Co. are going not only to win, but they'll win big.

Notre Dame opens the week as a 27.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The spread also demonstrates that the oddsmakers don't believe this will be a particularly high-scoring game, meaning that they expect the Irish defense to right some things that have gone very wrong.

Notre Dame football vs. Purdue Prediction

While Purdue is still trying to rebuild itself under new coach Barry Odom, this isn't a team that is quite as bad as the one that lost to the Irish 66-7 last year.

That was demonstrated last weekend, when they were heavy underdogs against the USC Trojans and gave Lincoln Riley and his crew a better fight than most saw coming.

USC still won the game, but 33-17 was a much better contest than it would have been last year, even if the Trojans were still an uneven program like last year.

Still, the Notre Dame football team has more talent than Purdue can hope to have. They've also got guys coming off two losses by a combined four points. They're angry, they're annoyed, and they're going to win this contest, 41-17.
