Notre Dame is making sure to give the Class of 2027 some love in this recruiting cycle as well.

Notre Dame has been in the headlines quite a bit when it comes to the Class of 2026 in this recruiting cycle, but they are also now making headlines for the Class of 2027 as well. Notre Dame has made an offer to elite quarterback Peyton Houston, who is currently rated as a 4-star quarterback in the Class of 2027.

Houston is not the first quarterback that Notre Dame has looked at in this class, as they have also offered 3-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard and hosted 4-star quarterback Keenan Croucher for a visit just last week.

Houston, however, has seemed to be the most impressive of the group and certainly caught the eye of offensive coordinator Gino Guidugli. Houston is currently ranked as the No. 85 player nationally, No. 8 quarterback in the Class of 2027, and the No. 6 player in the state of Louisiana.

Guidugli seemed to create a pretty good relationship with Houston and is a big reason the Fighting Irish are in the fight for the young gunslinger, according to Notre Dame insider Mike Singer. However, Notre Dame will have to battle with some heavy hitters for Houston's commitment, including Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, and USC.

Notre Dame is a real contender for top 10 quarterback in the Class of 2027

Clearly, Notre Dame is looking for the quarterback of the future in South Bend, and Houston could be the one to lead the Irish all the way. Guidugli seems to have an eye for offensive talent, and the connection he is making not just with Houston, but many quarterback prospects is something not every football program has.

Notre Dame is putting together an elite recruiting class for 2026, but now is also the time to focus on Class of 2027, and head coach Marcus Freeman is showing that with already handing out offers and hosting visits for prospects.
