When Ian Premer committed to the Notre Dame football team, it was a massive coup for the Fighting Irish as they continue to forge their reputation as “Tight End U.” It was also a significant setback for the Kansas State Wildcats’ recruiting plans. It was such a blow that a few fans don’t seem to be taking the loss all that well.
When one of the best tight end recruits in the country pulled the trigger for the Blue and Gold, some K-State fans claimed their confusion over the recruiting loss was more about how they thought the rest of his career would go. These fans are not exactly huge college football fans, judging from their takes on Kansas State and Notre Dame.
K-State message boards implode after Notre Dame football lands coveted Ian Premer
The Twitter account Message Board Geniuses found the messages on GoPowerCat.com. Those messages were rather odd, especially when one thought that the Notre Dame football team hadn’t accomplished much lately.

The first comment seemed to be before Premer actually pulled the trigger on his commitment. “Yep,” a poster responded to another unspecified comment. “If ND and not in the B12 (Big 12), probably never hear about him again. I mean who follows ND close enough to know who their TEs are?”
Setting aside that this fan thinks the Big 12 has a closer following than Notre Dame, this poster doesn’t seem to realize that Fighting Irish fans are a very dedicated bunch.
The second post was even funnier and more sour grapes.
“I’ll add to this the fact they haven’t done much lately and are definitely not in the national spotlight like Kansas State,” they wrote. “Bizarre decision.”
Notre Dame football fans would undoubtedly argue the post is far more bizarre than anything else, considering the Fighting Irish went to the playoffs and the National Championship Game last year. Meanwhile, Kansas State posted a 9-4 record and faced Rutgers in the Rate Bowl last winter.
