The Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans might not have to hate on Jim Harbaugh any more as it looks like he's on his way out of Michigan and onto the NFL.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Michigan Wolverines might not be the kind of rivals who play every year, but there's certainly no love lost between the two programs. That's why it's a pretty good bet that Notre Dame faithful are laughing and pointing a bit these days at their Michigan counterparts.

Yes, Jim Harbaugh brought the first solo national title to Ann Arbor in decades. Certainly Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans wish Marcus Freeman was able to do that. But it appears that now that he's won it all, Harbaugh might be on his way out of town.

If the report by Aaron Wilson is accurate it won't only be Jim Harbaugh leaving either. If the Michigan head coach departs for the San Diego Chargers, it's said that he envisions naming Greg Roman as his offensive coordinator and taking defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh with him.

In other words, if Harbaugh leaves the longtime Notre Dame Fighting Irish rival, it looks like he might be leaving Michigan in a weakened state. Even if the Golden Domers can't take advantage of that directly, it's a safe bet that there are plenty who would enjoy seeing that happen from afar.
