The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lacrosse team are champions. Again. On Monday afternoon, the Golden Domers won their second straight National Title. They did so in convincing fashion after they got off to a bit of a concerning start.

Once they shook off their shaky beginning, they were able to roll over the Maryland Terrapins.

Maryland started things off with a 2-0 lead just 3:30 into the contest but the Fighting Irish quickly came back.

Will Angrick got Notre Dame on the board roughly a minute later, and 51 seconds after that, Jake Taylor's 40th goal of the season tied the game at 2-2.

Notre Dame and Maryland then exchanged goals, making it 3-3 with 6:06 left in the first quarter. However, the Fighting Irish took over from there.

Jalen Seymour, Eric Dobson, Devon McLane, Chris Kavanagh (three times in a row), and Reilly Gray scored seven consecutive goals for Notre Dame, giving the Irish a 10-3 lead. Maryland managed to score just before halftime, cutting the lead to six.

Jordan Faison opened the second half with a behind-the-back goal, his 22nd of the season, giving the Irish an 11-4 advantage. Chris Kavanagh quickly added another pair of goals and that was that as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish won 15-5.

After the game was over and the Irish were champions, there was much rejoicing on social media.
