The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey team had to wait a long time to get back on the ice and play another game. The good news is that once they got back out there, they played some of their best hockey of the season.

Against Augustana, the Irish got off to a big win on Saturday night thanks in large part to a Cole Knuble hat trick. Knubles multiple goals allowed Notre Dame to beat their opponent 5-1. They tehn followed that up with a far closer game.

Sunday afternoon's contest saw the Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat Augustana 3-2 in overtime. Knubel continued to be the hero of the weeekend, as it was his OT goal that allowed the Irish to win and improve to 10-8-2 on the season.
