The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team was already considered one of the best teams in the country, when looking ahead to next season. That was before they added another weapon in the form of former Marquette Golden Eagles forward Liza Karlen.

Karlen announced she was coming to South Bend on Sunday afternoon, and she'll bring someone who is a force on the boards who can also score in bunches. Last season, she averaged more than 17 points per game, while hauling down nearly 8 rebounds per contest.

Karlen also has the ability to hit shots from deep. She connected on 25 of 70 (35.7 percent) 3-pointers this season and has made 54 of 170 (30.5 percent) from behind the arc in her career.

She'll join a team that got a ton of good news when Hannah Hidalgo announced she was comning back and Olivia Miles shot down rumors she was leaving. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been put in the Top 5 of some "way too early" lists for the 2024-25 season.

That was before the aded Karlen. Now things are even more exciting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team as we wait for the fall.
