After the Notre Dame Fighting Irish finished the 2023-24 season, most people would have to describe it as a bit disappointing, though there is hope that Micah Shrewsberry can get his squad to grow quickly. One way it can grow quickly for the future is by hauling in some of the best recruiting targets in the country.

So far, Shrewsberry hasn’t been shy about taking aim at these types of prospects. The Irish are routinely going after 4-star and 5-star targets pursued by bigger and better programs. Though so far, the success of landing these players are mixed at best.

That’s not stopping the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team from hard charging after guys like Cam Ward. While they’re a long way from landing him, they did manage to make his Top 10 among several other power programs.

Ward announced on Sunday that he’d cut down his list. Including the good guys in South Bend, the 4-star forward is still considering Michigan State, Alabama, Maryland, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Florida State, Virginia, Vanderbilt, and Marquette.

The 6-foot, 7-inch and 210-pound front court player is ranked as the nation’s No. 48 overall prospect and 15th player at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Cam Ward has set up an official visit to South Bend for the weekend of September 16th, one of three visits that he’s currently scheduled. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in a good position with him, and hopefully the visit seals the deal.
