The Notre Dame football team has closed out its 2024 recruiting class by finishing in the Top 10. Now the Fighting Irish coaches are worrying about what comes next. More specifically, what comes after the Sun Bowl.

What comes next is prepping for the 2024 season. The Irish have their new wide receiver coach in Mike Brown. They have their new offensive coordinator in Mike Denbrock. They can hit the ground running.

Part of hitting the ground running is getting as many of their 2024 signees into South Bend as soon as possible. If the signing class looked good, the number of early enrollees coming in January looks great. It looks like a record, as a matter of fact.

The 2024 class is going to have 15 players who will join the team in January. That breaks the previous record previous record of 14 set by the 2021 class. Clearly the Notre Dame football team has found it important to get kids to campus early of late.

That hasn’t always been the case. But as more and more schools around the country have made it a focus, the Fighting Irish have started to understand just why kids joining the team early is important.

After all, the Golden Domers even had one of their signees, CJ Carr join the team for bowl practice. And he truly impressed the coaches once he showed up. So who is going to join the 4-star quarterback in South Bend next week? Check out the list below

Notre Dame football early enrollees for 2024

  • QB CJ Carr
  • DL Bryce Young
  • DL Sean Sevillano Jr.
  • DL Cole Mullins
  • DL Loghan Thomas
  • OL Anthonie Knapp
  • OL Peter Jones
  • OL Styles Prescod
  • WR Micah Gilbert
  • RB Kedren Young
  • RB Aneyas Williams
  • WR Cam Williams
  • S Kennedy Urlacher
  • LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

That list means that more than half the Notre Dame football 2024 class is going to be on campus and learning the Fighting Irish way for spring ball. That could be a massive, massive edge for a program trying to get back to the college football playoffs.
