One of the amusing aspects of recruiting, whether for Notre Dame football or just in general, is how social media has allowed prospects to interact with one another. It’s the kind of thing people who weren’t paying attention even a decade ago might not realize is so unique.

It’s even more amusing when you see someone like Anthony Sacca take a bit of a shot at one of his teammates over their college choice. The Fighting Irish linebacker commit has been doing some peer recruiting since he committed back in March. And he recently made it clear he wasn’t thrilled with one of his high school teammates’ picks.

Maxwell Roy just happens to be one of the best defensive linemen in the country. He also just committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the latest example of the rich getting richer. Sacca appears to hold a grudge due to his Notre Dame football affiliation.

In response to Roy’s pledge announcement, Sacca took it upon himself to draw a hilarious line in the sand.

Yeah…. Find your own ride to practice tmr,” Sacca wrote while quote tweeting Roy’s announcement.

Sacca then made it clear that he was kidding. Even if he probably would have liked to see Roy go somewhere else.

“Congrats my man,” he closed the tweet with.

Interestingly enough, if Sacca was hoping that his St. Joseph’s teammate was coming to South Bend with him, he has a bone to pick with the Irish coaches. For whatever reason, Marcus Freeman and company didn’t give him an official offer.

It’s possible that after talking to Roy, Notre Dame football knew it wasn’t in the running. They’ll definitely “settle” for Anthony Sacca in that case.
