Notre Dame football fans have been on quite the ride when it comes to Deuce Knight the last few weeks. However, what if that ride has largely been unnecessary? What if Knight is as solid as he has been since he first committed to the Irish?

Knight has been repping the Fighting Irish at the Elite 11 finals this week. The camp brings together some of the best quarterback prospects in the class so they can all show off what they have to offer. Between the gunslinger being amongst the best of the camp, he talked a bit about his commitment to Marcus Freeman and company.

The Notre Dame football commit talked to On3 about his pledge to the Irish during some downtime, and it certainly seems as though Knight’s as upfront as ever. And also as solid as ever.

Notre Dame football commit talks about how solid he is with Irish

“I feel like my commitment is great with Notre Dame,” Knight told the site. “I was just up there for my official visit, and it was really fun. I got to hang out with a lot of the commits and coaches. It’s really good.”

Knight’s official visit took place June 14-16, but he’s gone to South Bend several times. With how long Knight has been committed and how many times he’s visited campus, there’s not much new the staff can tell him. His relationships with the ND coaches are very strong.

It’s not just because he says they are either. It’s clear that he’s got some real relationships with Marcus Freeman, Mike Denbrock and the rest of the offensive staff. It’s also clear he’s worked hard to get other guys to South Bend.

And he’s worked to get them to commit. Knight doesn’t appear to be someone who is wavering on the Notre Dame football team. Maybe he’s not.
