Notre Dame football expected to 'win emphatically' against Texas A&M
While there are people that for some reason think Notre Dame football is going to lose to Texas A&M on Saturday, it is certainly not everybody. There are some analysts who believe the Fighting Irish have enough talent to overcome what will be a raucous crowd in Kyle Field.
Count Joel Klatt among those who thinks the Irish are going to lay the boom on the Aggies. Despite the fact that Notre Dame is actually the underdog in this game
Klatt talked about how much he trusted Notre Dame football to win the game on one of his most recent podcast episodes. And he wasn't shy about how much he thinks they're just better than their opponent, even if that opponent has a ton of excitement around its new head coach.
“First games of the year, they’re always sloppy offensively, and then you’re gonna throw onto that what will be an insane environment. It’s a great stadium. It’s a great fan base that’s gonna be on fire for the change and the feeling that they’ve got going on at Texas A&M. That’s why A&M is favored by 2.5. However, I think Notre Dame’s defense is going to be outstanding. Outstanding. I think that they are going to stop, largely, Texas A&M.
Notre Dame football defense will play big part in win
“I do not think Texas A&M scores over 10 points in this game. I’m going 24-9, Notre Dame. They win on the road and because they win and they win emphatically, I think we immediately start talking, man, is Notre Dame gonna go undefeated and are they a shoo-in for the fifth seed in the College Football Playoff? I think we could be talking about that come Monday.”
Notre Dame football fans have got to love reading that and thinking about the possibility of Joel Klatt being right about all of it.
