Notre Dame football in key 2024 matchup, ranked among most impactful games

Because they somehow don’t play all that often, people forget that Notre Dame football is essentially ACC rivals with the Florida State Seminoles. This season, the two teams will face off and there’s quite a bit at stake in that game.

As always, as the season crawls closer and closer, various outlets take a look at which games will be impactful around the country, and 247Sports believes that the Irish and Seminoles will also be one of the most impactful games of the season.

Florida State will travel North to South Bend and take on Notre Dame football on November 9th, the game that 247Sports has as the No. 17 biggest impact this season.

Brad Crawford notes that the Seminoles are coming off an ACC championship, but must replace a considerable amount of production from last season’s 13-win squad.

“Clemson played Notre Dame in these non-conference tilts a couple times in recent years, but now it's defending ACC champion Florida State's turn to get a bite at the apple in South Bend. DJ Uiagalelei has started a game against the Fighting Irish before on the road and lost, doing so as Clemson's QB1 in 2022. He gets a chance to right his wrongs with a better performance as the leaders of the Seminoles, one of the nation's elite who must replace a considerable amount of production from this season's 13-win squad.”

It’s also worth noting that the game is going to be plenty impactful for its own hopes. The Irish need to win in order to stay on the road to the college football playoffs. If they lose, that could shake things up.

That alone makes this Notre Dame football game one of the most impactful of the upcoming season.
