Notre Dame football coach gets rave review from quarterback target
The Notre Dame football team might still be working to keep its 2025 quarterback commit in the fold, but they're also looking to future commits as well. It's a safe bet that at this point, Marcus Freeman hasn't figured out who his top target for that class is for sure yet.
It's also a safe bet that Troy Huhn is near the top of the list. He's someone the Fighting Irish are going to be keeping very close tabs on. And the best news there is that Huhn is going to be keeping very close tabs on Notre Dame.
Huhn has already called the Notre Dame football team one of his "dream" programs. Earlier this week, the Mission Hills quarterback talked to Irish Sports Daily about what he's found important, what's caught his eye, and how the Irish have themselves at the top of the list already.
"Coach Gino [Guidugli] and I are building a strong relationship and we’re going to continue to build it,” said Huhn. “He’s a great coach, great guy and really relatable. He’s very smart as well. He knows how to get it done.”
The Irish quarterback coach went up to see Huhn try out in January. Since he and new offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock went up there, Guidugli has been keeping close contact with the quarterback prospect.

One reason the Irish are keeping an eye on Huhn because he's already showing quite a bit of talent. As a sophomore, he threw for 1,623 yards and 16 touchdowns. He wants to do even better in his junior year.
“In the physical part, I’m definitely trying to get my speed up to be able to extend plays this season as well as getting stronger and adding some weight,” Huhn explained. “The mental part is also a big part of it. I’m trying to watch film as much as I can every day. I’m trying to fix up the little things that will make me perfect for next season.”
While Huhn is clearly high on the Notre Dame football program, there are already plenty of power schools after him. He's up to 17 offers and that's absolutely going to increase over the next few years.
For now, the Fighting Irish have their foot in the door. It looks like keeping Gino Guidugli in the fold will be important.
