Just how good the Notre Dame football team is at recruiting is only part of the reason why there's a ton of optimism around Marcus Freeman and company. One big mark in this coaching staff's favor is that the kids that made it official on signing day was only the first step.

The fact that the Notre Dame football team has a record number early signees on campus this spring. One of those might stand out more than most when the smoke clears. Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa could be one of those guys who makes a name for himself as a true freshman.

In fact, 247Sports recently put together a list of the freshmen they think are going to be instant impact players. Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa made the All-Impact Team for the 2024 season.

The website made a very good case for why this young linebacker could be someone who stands out immediately. And jumping into the action right away is just part of the reason why. A lack of depth is going to be a big part of the equation as well.

"There's very little experience returning to Notre Dame at linebacker outside of veteran starter Jack Kiser. That creates an opportunity for an early enrollee like Viliamu-Asa, who arrives on campus as a do-it-all presence with potential to play multiple spots for a defense."

Obviously, the fact that the linebacker was one of the best at his position in high school plays another part in why the Notre Dame football team might have an early impact player.

"A multiyear starter at Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, the Golden State powerhouse, Viliamu-Asa provides extreme versatility as a run defender, blitzer and in coverage. He plays with a high motor, too. Expect him to force his way onto the field quickly in South Bend."

Here's hoping 247Sports is right and the Notre Dame football team has one of the best keepers in the country.
