Notre Dame football appears to have an 'in' with a top LB prospect
Now that we're well into the month of January, Notre Dame football recruiting is revving into high gear once again. One way to know that's a fact is that the Irish are working hard to get some of the best prospects in the 2025 class into South Bend in the very near future.
Among those very talented players is one Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng. A 4-star linebacker prospect out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Owusu Boateng is considered the 52nd-ranked player in his class by 247Sports.
It shouldn't come as a suprise that Notre Dame football is rating a visit. The Irish are rated as the best class in the country for the 2025 cycle. Anyone worth their salt should at least be giving Marcus Freeman and company a look.
But Owusu-Boateng is likely coming to South Bend for more than simply to check off that particular box. It would appear that the Golden Domers have a little something up their sleeves that they could use to entice him to commit at some point this year.
The 8th rated linebacker in the 2025 cycle also just happens to be the younger brother of former Fighting Irish star Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The same Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah who is now spending his time wowing fans in the NFL.
Notre Dame football might have secret weapon in fight for Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng
It would seem that the school where his brother honed his craft to the point where he's now one of the best defenders in the pros is attractive to Nathaniel. the 6-foot-3, 205 pound linebacker has scheduled a visit to South Bend.
While Notre Dame football has secured a January 20 visit, it doesn't appear that even if he's quite impressed with what he sees, he'll be giving a pledge. Next weekend, he'll check out what the Miami Hurricanes have to offer.
Owusu-Boateng is sought after enough that it's unlikely he's going to be committing anytime soon. But getting one of the first visits for one of the best players in the class can still be viewed as a victory for Notre Dame football.
